Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
Electric machine designer and researcher with 5+ years spanning academia, industry, and entrepreneurship. Specialising in FEA-based design of synchronous reluctance, permanent magnet, and induction machines. Co-founder of EMDA — building the next generation of motor simulation software.
I am an Electrical Engineer and researcher with a Ph.D. from the University of Concepción, Chile. My work focuses on analytical and FEA-based design of synchronous reluctance and permanent magnet machines, from mathematical modelling through to prototype validation.
At the PEMC Research Institute, University of Nottingham, I design high-performance machines for clients including Alstom, BAE Systems, Changan, and Jaguar Land Rover. In parallel, I co-founded EMDA Corp, developing eMDesigner — a SaaS simulation platform engineered to make electric machine design faster and more accessible than traditional FEA workflows.
SaaS Simulation Platform for Rotating Electric Machines
eMDesigner is a cloud-based analytical simulation platform for electric machine design — a faster, more affordable alternative to tools such as ANSYS Motor-CAD. Built on physics-based analytical models validated against FEA, it enables engineers to perform rapid machine sizing, parametric sweeps, and performance evaluation without full finite-element workflows.
Open to research collaborations, industrial projects, consulting, and speaking invitations.
